I really don't know what I would do or how I would feel. I only ever had one uncle and aunt in the Borg, and we were never close in the first place. I've lost all my "friends", but there was never any real closeness so I haven't been too upset by that. I'm one of the lucky escapees.

Could you live with not talking to your JW family for the rest of your life?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inone of greatest obstacles to leaving the organization is the destruction of the family unit.
as lady-lee wrote about oompa, i thought of this topic, the society says "this is their way to get wrong doing people to return to the loving arms of jehovah after they repent of their sins" .
i know of men and women who are in good standings and hate their fellow spiritual jw family, i am willing to bet, wager that "jw-hatred" exceeds the worlds hatred, something about a self-assured group versus the "not so self assured' creates one plucked up structure.

While that is way weirder than anything I personally experienced in the Borg, I am well aware that I was not privy to all the craziness that surely exists.

Words that were really hard to hear...
by NeverKnew inlast night, i listened to words that were really hard to hear.
i'm not sure how much of the conversation i blocked out.. i intentionally initiated a conversation with a jw man that i've grown very fond of who has been talking about marriage next year as recently as last weekend (our anniversary weekend).
we have had the conversation before, but i have to admit, i have a tough time listening and i find that i leave the conversations not believing what i'm hearing so therefore i can't seem to retain the details.

Lisa makes a very good point. He shouldn't even be dating you or considering dating you because that alone is "disappointing" Jay Hoover.

Grumblecakes - it really wasn't too hard to do. I'm not very skilled and I've never made anything from clay before. I used Sculpey brand - it was a pre-colored multipack. You bake the item when it is done.
Anne - I can't imagine that my styrofoam sculpting skills would generate a recognizable SParlock - but I might try it anyway

You are in for a world of hurt if he can't free himself. And in the immortal words of Bob Marley " None but ourselves can free our minds". You can't do the work for him.

Yes I am! It's about the right soze for an ornament. I wanted to make a big one to use as a tree topper, but the clay is expensive and I figure it would bee too heavy. I might try to make a stuffed doll one.

Is the Watchtower Society Really God's Organization?
by wannabe inis the watchtower society really god's organization?.
the governing body of the watchtower society, makes the claim that they are god's, 'spirit directed organization', god's 'prophet, or mouthpiece'.
one would suppose that an organization that claims to know all the truths of the bible, would know that the coming prophet like moses, who was appointed over jehovah's house in the days of the israelite nation, would also know, that the coming prophet like moses, would be the one appointed over god's house when he arrived on the scene, when the due time arrived for the new covenant to go into force.

Stay At Home Moms/Dads
by cognac ini have a 3 and 1 year old.
hubby is a stay at home dad and i take care of the bills.
i have to, cause instead of working on his career when he was younger, he decided to pioneer- that is something that now i have to pay the price for which really sucks.. i feel that since i pay the bills, it's his job to cook and do all of the cleaning.

First, I don't get why him working would require you to sell your house and move into a trailer. If he's bringing in money, you aren't any worse off financially than you are right now.
Second, I am also the working spouse and Just Ron has been a stay at home dad since our oldest was born just over 13 years ago. I don't always like hauling myself off to work every day, but I sure don't want to be stuck at home with the kids by myself either. Just Ron has always done housework and errands and chores and he homeschooled the older two for 9 years. I still came home and wondered what he had been doing all day sometimes, but for the most part it was obvious that he was trying to get it all done.
If your husband isn't pulling his weight, it's time for a come to Jesus meeting. I think that what you really want is for him to be a team player and do his fair share of the work, and that's a perfectly reasonable thing.
